Hello, my name is Carmelo M. Borges. I am a Budget Analyst, AHR-10, at FAA Headquarters, Washington, DC.
I have served 15 years of Active Duty Military Service as a Commissioned Officer in different leadership positions, finishing my active time as a Finance Comptroller at the Pentagon’s G3 Staff. The next 8 years have been with the Army Reserves. While in the Reserves I worked with the Department of Defense as a Budget Officer before moving in 2007 to the FAA as an accountant.
I’m interested in cooking, gardening, fast cars, Sudoku, and the New York Yankees (die-hard fan).
I recently spent one year deployed to Iraq with the Army Reserves. This experience gave me a real understanding of the Middle East and the opportunity to work with other U.S. services and soldiers from other countries.
I have been married for 35 years to my highschool sweetheart, Helena, and have two grown children- Reggie (31) and Becky (26).
